Video: Vendor-Client Relationship in Real-World Situations
(Source: youtube, by Scofield Editorial, Inc.)
The video linked above might seem humorous - and it is indeed here to give you a chuckle. But it can also serve as a mini-FAQ on pricing in general.
Professional Quality - and a fair Fee
As a professional and experienced photographer I strive to give my clients excellent quality and service. And I aim to charge a fair fee based on our agreements.
Please contact me to discuss your needs and I will work at offering a reasonable price we can both live with.
What the Fee is based on
Following I highlight some factors which play a role in pricing a fee for a photo job:
- Scope of the desired usage rights - dependent on the intended use
- Distribution/ placement/ presentation/ exposure of the images
- Duration of use
- Difficulty and risk of the task at hand
- Value
- Necessary time, effort, research and planning involved
Some Thoughts on Pricing...
It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little.
When you pay too much, you lose a little money — that is all.
When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot — it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
(This wise and true summary has been attributed to John Ruskin (1819-1900))

Customer Comments
"Respect - the images really turned out very good, we are all more than happy."
"One can clearly see more drama in the images, compared to what we had in the previous years with […]. Also the new locations, combined with the weather in which the images were shot, brings across visibly more excitement."
